Chaserpedia:Advertise
Chaserpedia is provided free to internet users. Users can free view, search, edit and add content about storm chasing, skywarn and general meteorology on this site. Users will never have to pay to use our wiki but they may have to register to do certain activities which is also free. To be able to pay for hosting and server costs, we rely on user donations and advertising. This page explains what we will advertise, how we will advertise and how much it costs. Advertising Packages and Prices
The following information is what sort of advertisement we allow and offer at Chaserpedia. We also list the prices here and how to purchase the advertisement space.
DoFollow Links By default, all user submitted external links are set to "nofollow" meaning that search engines will not even notice them let alone index and follow them. We do this to deter people from using our wiki to spam or just as a backlink source. However, we allow others to pay a one-time fee of $30.00 per domain (i.e. yourdomain.com) and we will add the link to the "dofollow" list which will allow your link to be counted as a backlink and help you with search engine ranking and pagerank on Google. Please submit a ticket and choose advertising on the drop-down list and tell us you want to purchase a dofollow link (please include the link) and we will reply with the link to send the payment (all payments are made via PayPal.com).
Footer Banner You can have a website banner placed on the footer of every page (or the bottom) right under the Privacy policy, About, etc. links. The banner will help you get clicks and is set to dofollow which will give you a great backlink as well. This costs a low rate of $15.00 a month or $150.00 a year which will save you $30.00. Please submit a ticket and choose advertising on the drop-down list and tell us you want to purchase a footer banner (please include the link) and we will reply with the link to send the payment (all payments are made via PayPal.com) and the specs for the banner sizing.
Sponsors Box You can have your text link added to the side bar (the section on every page to the left with navigation, search, toolbox, etc.) for a low rate of $20.00 a month or $190.00 a year ($50 off). This is one of the best ways to ensure your link is seen by other users of the wiki. Please submit a ticket and choose advertising on the drop-down list and tell us you want to purchase a sponsor text link (please include the link and few words to be the link text) and we will reply with the link to send the payment (all payments are made via PayPal.com).
Newsletter Text Link We provide newsletters to users who subscribe to them. We plan to have many different newsletters for anyone, for editors and for staff members. You can purchase a text link on a single newsletter for a low rate of $10.00 per issue. An issue would be a specific newsletter that is sent not all newsletters. Please submit a ticket and choose advertising on the drop-down list and tell us you want to purchase a newsletter text link (please include the link and text to add) and we will reply with the link to send the payment (all payments are made via PayPal.com).
Advertising Guidelines
The following rules and guidelines apply to all advertisers and advertising products we offer. Please read this carefully before purchasing advertising from us.
Websites we allow We allow almost any sort of website to be advertised here. It does not have to be weather or storm chasing related, it can be computing, real estate, software, hardware, marketing, web development and so on. However, since this is a meteorology-related niche wiki, weather and chasing type sites will probably be a better advertisement here verses non-related sites. You can advertise websites, forums, social networks, chat rooms, video sites, streaming and other types.
Websites we do not allow We do not allow spam site which are site such as viagra, canadian medicine, prescriptions and etc. We do not allow advertisements that lead to any adult rated, pornographic or sexual websites. We do not allow advertisements that lead to criminal activity, gambling of any kind, drugs of any kind, violence, illegal hacking/cracking, warez or sites that can harm computers (malware, spyware, viruses, etc.). We do not allow direct competition meaning direct competing wikis will not be allowed to be shown on Chaserpedia as advertisements at all. Banners may not be extremely animated, made to look like windows alerts, flashing or in flash. Profanity may not be used in advertisement banners or text links. We only allow advertisements in the English language so that we can verify it can be linked here.
No Refunds We do not offer refund of any kind. Please make sure you want to purchase advertising before you do it, this is important. By purchasing an advertisement with us, you agree that we do not allow refunds. You may however use the PayPal support and options if something goes wrong or you make a mistake. If you PayPal refund advertising purchased here, your ad will not be shown. If you do it too much, we will ban the website from the wiki completely and forever unless you pay a $100.00 unban fee (which does not include any sort of advertising). This is why you need to make sure you want to purchase advertising before you actually do it.
Banner Rotation The footer banner ad is under a rotation meaning your banner will not always display if there are other banners. It will rotate eventually to your banner per number of page clicks and so on. We provide banner rotation to be fair to allow others to have a banner added to the footer area.
